Dare to try a cashless life

Some species are bound for extinction
because they fail to adapt.

Fast forward with us into the cashless future

Go to the challenge

Cowry Shells (1300 B.C - 1900 A.D)

Sea shells were used all over the world as an item of exchange, but the most valued type was the cowry shell.  Primarily sourced from the Pacific oceans, its recognizable shape and distinctive texture increased its value, as it protected it from forgery. When modern currencies became common, the cowry shells lost their monetary role.

Silver Coins (600B.C – 1965 A.D)

The silver coin is the oldest form of mass coinage, dating back to Ancient Greek times. In the beginning, the coins were made of high purity silver; but as time went by, the precious material became scarce and less silver was used to produce new coins. In 1965, the United States created the last silver coins because of the high cost of the precious material.

Cash (1000 A.D – The end is near)

The use of paper money was first introduced in China during the Song Dynasty. Originally, it was backed by gold and silver and considered a promise to pay someone in precious metal.  Today, its  value is a representative agreement between parties. As digitalization of transactions becomes the norm, the use of cash has less relevance in daily life.  Even now in some places, money is not accepted or at the very least it is beginning to feel like an outdated form of payment.

To survive, some species evolve

(1994 - ) Digital payment technologies are linked to the early days of the internet, and began mainly as online banking services. As e-commerce emerged, digital payment companies like Wirecard pioneered solutions for online payment. As we move into an all-digital world, digital payments have evolved into clean, quick and efficient experiences, which people around the world have embraced. This means that societies are becoming more cashless, as cash is becoming digital.
