Easy and secure payment type

Wirecard enables retailers to accept Apple Pay for in-app payments via a mobile end device.

Apple Pay works with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus via an near field communication (NFC) antenna design, a secure element and the Touch ID function. Apple Pay can be set up easily, with the user simply adding their credit or debit card linked to the iTunes Store to their account. Apple Pay will also be compatible with the recently announced Apple Watch, which is set to expand the Apple Pay service to more than 200 million users of the iPhone 5, 5c and 5s.

Apple Pay supports credit and debit cards from the three major payment organisations, namely American Express, MasterCard and Visa.

When using Apple Pay in a shop, restaurant or other retailer, the name, credit card number and security code are not visible to others.

Transactions are authorised with a unique number which is used by the device account number. Instead of the security code on the back of the card, Apple Pay generates a dynamic security code to guarantee the security of every transaction.

In-app online shopping with the iPhone is at your fingertips. Users can pay for physical goods and services including clothes, electronics, health and beauty artefacts, tickets and much more with Touch ID. The payment process is confirmed in a single touch. The user need not enter any account, despatch or invoicing information. The card data is handled with confidentiality meaning online retailers will not be granted access.

In October 2014, Apple Pay will be available as a free update for iOS 8 for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in the USA. In addition, Apple Pay will work in shops in conjunction with the iPhone 6, 6 Plus and Apple Watch. Apple Pay APIs (application programming interfaces) will be available for developers in iOS 8, so that in-app purchasing of physical goods on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus is enabled.
