Wirecard and Gastro-MIS optimise payment solutions for food industry
Enchilada Group already benefiting from new payment options
The global payment service provider Wirecard has partnered up with food retail specialists Gastro-MIS, a company that already integrated software solutions in more than 4000 cash registers in Germany. Today, card payments are already an integral part of the food service industry. Consumers are increasingly used to carrying less cash and prefer to use more flexible alternatives in restaurants, bars and cafés. Wirecard will be offering together with Gastro-MIS participating restaurateurs a mobile point of sale (mPOS) solution in addition to standard terminals at the point of sale (POS) in future.
For this partnership, Wirecard will provide hardware as well as processing and acceptance of all common forms of payments at the POS. Additionally, the payment expert will act as the acquirer for cashless payment processing. The relevant payment solution is integrated into the existing cash register system depending on the restaurant and counter.
Dr. Mirco Till, CEO of Gastro-MIS: “Wirecard interfaces enable easy connection. The restaurateur benefits from an holistic cash register system with integrated payments.”
Catharina Tiede, Senior Partner Manager at Wirecard, adds: “We are really excited that, together with Gastro-MIS, we are able to optimise the payment process not just for customers but also for staff. We offer increased convenience and satisfaction, especially with the mPOS solution: Restaurant operators are then easily able to convert smartphones or tablets to act as a checkout as a convenient way of offering card payments. We are making flexible, secure and quick payments possible.”
The clients are restaurants for example from the Enchilada Group franchise – this includes more than 130 branches, for example dean & david – whose customers can already benefit from an expanded range of payment options. In addition, many more customers have already been secured.Download Press Release
