Wirecard will present all there is to know about the future of digital payments at the Mobile World Congress, the world’s largest mobile communications exhibition, which takes place in Barcelona, Spain, from 22 to 25 February 2016. Visitors to the Congress are invited to the Wirecard stand (7K30) where they can gain an insight into the future of payment, including payment via smartphone and wearable technology or through the smart integration of the point of sale (POS) with online and mobile channels.

The Wirecard Group will be exhibiting its entire range of innovative payment technologies. The mobile payment solution boon. by Wirecard has redefined mobile payment with Android smartphones: never before has a payment app been this secure and easy to use. The latest standards and technologies are brought together by Wirecard in boon.protect to provide maximum security. Card data is protected from fraud by the effective implementation of risk management tools and tokenisation.

Christian von Hammel-Bonten, Executive Vice President Global Product Strategy at Wirecard, will be hosting a digital commerce seminar together with other speakers at the Mobile World Congress. The seminar will focus on the highly relevant topic of tokenisation for mobile payments and is scheduled from 11.30am until 1.00pm on 23 February. Wirecard will also present the mobile payment solution, Orange Cash, which has been nominated by the GSMA for the Global Mobile Award in the “Best Mobile Payment Solution” category. The award ceremony will be taking place during the Congress.

Meanwhile, at the Wirecard stand, visitors will be able to discover the new possibilities that networking of the POS sales process opens up. Merchants who choose to connect to Wirecard’s ConnectedPOS technology do not need to change their existing till infrastructure. Simply connecting the current till system to ConnectedPOS allows retailers to offer alternative payment methods, as is demonstrated by Wirecard’s recent partnership with Alipay: a customer paying with their Alipay Wallet just has to show a retailer their smartphone, which displays a barcode. The retailer then scans this code with a hand scanner to begin the payment process. Visit the Wirecard Stand (7K30) at the Mobile World Congress to try out this technology.
