How Wirecard is pioneering omnichannel solutions underpins a client case study: Wirecard and WMF launched this project in September 2016. The roll-out is on its way to the remaining 170 WMF stores in Germany. For over 160 years, WMF Group brands have been synonymous with the finest gastronomic culture. WMF sets standards with highly functional products known for exceptional design. In addition to high-quality products, the WMF Group also greatly values technology-based, unique shopping experiences at the point of sale. The omnichannel shopping solution (watch the video here) now allows WMF customers to give products the once over in person, immediately order online in store and arrange home delivery. To facilitate this, the WMF Group cooperated with Wirecard to equip its stores with tablets which had a pre-installed app. The app is directly linked with the online shop, creating a unified purchase experience for WMF customers across all channels. For Visa, MasterCard and Maestro customers, the solution presents a further advantage: all payment-relevant data for card transactions is captured via the integrated mobile point of sale (mPOS) terminal (SPM2) before being displayed in the app via Bluetooth. This means that it is not necessary to manually enter credit card data into the tablet device. Furthermore, UnionPay and Alipay are accepted payment types. “One of our stated objectives and promises to our customers was to create an uncomplicated and inspiring purchase experience across various sales channels.
