More than anything because Wirecard struck me as a dynamic enterprise back then and still is. I also wanted to gain experience at a large, globally active company. I particularly enjoy working together with people from all over the world.
After joining Wirecard in 2014, I spent time in all of the Facility Management departments and was able to define the tasks of my current position. I also learned what needs to be done at reception and in the internal post office. I also gained experience on our building services team and got acquainted with all the systems and equipment, while also learning about commercial and other infrastructure-related topics.
I’m mainly responsible for equipment and infrastructure for reception, the in-house services and the post office. I also look after the company car pool, work to improve workplace safety and manage external providers of cleaning and security services, etc. My responsibilities also include programs for employees such as sports and leisure activities, childcare, food, etc.
The wide variety of tasks that I am entrusted with. Plus the challenge of working on many different things at the same time.
In Facility Management, there’s no such thing as a normal workday. Every day is different. Just when you think everything is going according to plan, something comes up that disrupts your routine. The buildings are like living things, and our staff also have changing needs. There are things that need to be done regularly, but it’s different every time.
It’s important to me to continue learning and developing myself, and be supported by my employer. Wirecard makes sure I receive all of the training I require for my job. That keeps me up to date.
I hope that Wirecard will continue to have an open ear and watchful eye for how we’ll work tomorrow.
