mywirecard – Prepaid Visa and MasterCard
Over 400 million Europeans have no credit card and many who do own one do not wish to use it because of security concerns. In order to tap these customer groups for retail, Wirecard AG has developed the new Wirecard payment service mywirecard in cooperation with MasterCard – a virtual prepaid credit card.
myirecard 2go Visa
mywirecard 2go Visa is the first Visa prepaid card in Germany that a customer can buy in a shop, load on the spot and then use right away in stores and online. Nearly 500,000 big and small retailers in Germany accept Visa. mywirecard 2go Visa is available throughout Germany at over 1,200 points of sale (e.g. at JET gas stations) and can be loaded in approx. 20,000 shops via an e-va terminal. Nearly 500,000 big and small retailers in Germany accept Visa – and the Visa card can be used at over 24 million acceptance points across the world.
mywirecard MasterCard
mywirecard MasterCard, a product of Wirecard Bank AG, gives consumers access to easy and secure online payment with several million retailers worldwide. Immediately after registering the consumer obtains an account with Wirecard Bank that he or she can top-up by transfer and with cash at the POS in 20,000 shops. In the instant that the mywirecard account shows a credit balance, the customer is issued a "virtual" prepaid credit card of MasterCard. This consists of the primary credit card information required for an online purchase.
