Sportler AG decides on Wirecard AG for payment processing in its online shop

Sports retailer benefits from end-to-end package of services / Fewer purchases broken off thanks to intuitive user guidance on payment site

Aschheim (Munich), November 28, 2011; Bozen-based Sportler AG has decided to go with the secure and PCI-conform payment site offered by Munich-based Wirecard AG to process credit card payments. The requisite credit card acceptance for MasterCard and Visa is ensured via Wirecard Bank AG.

Sportler AG has twenty branches in Northern Italy and Austria and is one of Europe’s leading sports retail companies. The online shop www.sportler.com is currently geared to customers in Italy, Austria and Germany.

The Wirecard Payment Page features simple integration and functionality. The merchant enjoys constant flexibility when selecting payment methods: from credit cards and direct debits through to online bank transfers or mobile payments, and even country-specific payment methods and solutions.

“Our Payment Page can be flexibly adjusted to the trader’s expansion strategy. That means that it is possible to add country-specific payment solutions at any time. Traders benefit, because they still only have to conclude a single contract with Wirecard. The Wirecard Payment Page is available in 20 languages. This also benefits Sportler AG: It plans to expand into additional European countries in the medium term.
